The University at Buffalo PhD Graduate

Mehreen reached out to me during the summer a couple of weeks prior to her official graduation with her PhD. She already had her Bachelors in Biology and English Lit from George Washington University in DC, and her MPH in Global Public Health from NYU (where she met her husband).

After so many years of hard work, so many long hours of studying, and such an amazing accomplishment, she wanted to commemorate the moment. Mehreen comes from a long line of highly educated women — her grandmother has a Masters degree in Botany/Zoology and her mother was an English Literature Professor back in Pakistan.

I am so incredibly fortunate that she (and her family) immediately fell in love with my work and knew I could do a great job capturing this monumental moment with the gorgeous campus as the background, as well as with their entire family. Prior to this session, we did some photos at home and in the backyard with Mehreen’s extended family who came to visit her for her graduation ceremony. Afterwards, she and her husband joined me on South Campus to nail the final photos.
